Now that I am about to start a new job I wanted to take a little trip. Jerri and I went on a four day cruise to Catalina and Ensenada.

Today the union Pacific Railroad started to move the 4014 big boy steam engine from Colton California to Chyenne Wyoming. It has been in the train museum at the LA County fair for the last 50 years. It will be fully restored and put back into service. I was fortunate to see it at a stop it took on highway 138 at Mormon rocks as well as at the Victorville Amtrack station.

On Friday Brandi had her birthday party. She hosted a murder mystery dinner. Stephen cooked. We all had a great tome with family and friends.

I am still working on my lifetime hobby of toy trains. Now I have added HO gauge slot cars to my obsession. It is more fun than collecting bottles from the bottom of old outhouses.

Jerri Sue has finally reached her dream. She has her own stamp store. It is right on main street. She has "small inventory" but I'm sure it will grow.

MY MAN CAVE

I have been busy turning half of my garage into a train  room. There are three o gauge lines that are 77 feet each and a slot car track too. For more pictures and a video check out my Dorfan trains blog. The link is on this page.

JUST MISSED THE HOUSE

We planted this tree when we first moved here in 1989. It grew so big that if it fell it would destroy our house. I cut down one branch at a time. Each branch was like a tree by itself. This was the last branch that leaned towards the house. It barely scraped the front door.

This is what was left. It has already started growing new leaves and branches.

While I have been out of work I have been just sitting around the house. Or maybe under it. A pipe broke and I had to replace part of the floor and repair the pipe at the same time. What fun.

It has been a long time since I have updated my blog.  This is Jerri and I at Brian's Halloween party this year.

REHABILITATION

Tomorrow will mark two weeks from my surgery. I have come a long way. I can go potty by my self. I walk 5 minutes 3 times a day. The hardest thing so far is taking a shower. My pain Medication makes me have bad dreams so I did not take one last night. I found out how much pain I was really in. I have a 1,000 piece puzzle to put together. It is already making me crazy.

I'M HOME

I thought I would add a little nudity to my blog. How do you like my new gash? I am home now and doing good. I spend most of my day trying to go the the bathroom and taking a shower. After those I'm ready for naptime.

WHAT THE HECK DID I DO NOW?

How about a quadruple bypass?  Yup I'm in Saint Mary's hospital in apple valley. Now that the surgery is over my heart is not beating to the correct rhythm. The Doctors are going to connect to wires that stick out of my chest to shock my heart back into the correct rhythm.

TRUNK OR TREAT

That's right! Jerri won first prize in the Trunk or Treat decorating contest. She had the best trunk In the whole Church.

There was also a pumpkin carving contest.

And a cake walk.

And all kinds of games.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

On Saturday we went to a real great Halloween party in Hesperia. It was just on the other side of the hills from our gold claim we call the stroller claim.

There was a haunted house, costumes,food and a great night of fun.

HELL DAYS

Almost every day has a story. Sometimes the stories are intense. On Saturday we went to a new restaurant called the Golden corral. It is the best restaurant we have ever been in. It is a steak buffet. There are three cooks flame grilling steaks right in front of you. They have the best chicken, shrimp, dessert and ribs.....oh no don't eat the ribs.  Three bites and I broke a tooth in half.



On Sunday I managed to pull out the broken half of my tooth with a pair of pliers in the garage.  After that I was no longer in any pain. On Monday I went to the dentist. The dentist told me that the tooth had to come out.

My dentist turned out to be a torture specialist from WW2.  She shoved a needle up into my brain. After my face was numb she tried to pull my jaw out of my mouth.It never came out. After the shot started to ware off she tried to pull some more. Oops. I can't give you any more so I guess you will have to come back and start over.  I don't think so. I had to go home with my tooth half way pulled out with enough pain killers for two weeks.  I have an appointment in two weeks for the oral surgeon. DUH.

Today I pumped up on drugs and went to Corvette Specialty to learn to buff and polish paint from the experts. I will be applying what I learn to our 737 Spoiler program. As soon as I get the process documented and approved I will travel back to Mexico to teach our painters in Guaymas.

While I was there I thought I should pick out my Corvette.

I think this one would be good for me.

MOVING DAY

Stephen's moving day was finally here.

He is moving to Utah to be with Jenny and Levi.

Johnny came to help move with his truck.

Andy was there to help too.

Everything was loaded quickly and all three were headed to Utah.

We tried to talk him out of it.
